I went to Las Vegas for a few days.

Vegas didn't help my sanity/lack there of, but I got a good sunburn. Sometimes you just need a sunburn (or a phone call).

I need to get my hands dirty

Winnie the Pooh, silly old bear.

"Rabbit is clever," said Pooh thoughtfully.
"Yes," said Piglet, "Rabbit's clever."
"And he has Brain."
"Yes," said Piglet, "Rabbit has Brain."
There was a long silence.
"I suppose," said Pooh, "that that's why he never understands anything."

Reading Winnie the Pooh as an adult is quite different than having it read to you as a child. I envy that bear all stuffed with fluff.

"Pooh!" he whispered. "Yes, Piglet?" 

"Nothing," said Piglet, taking Pooh's paw. "I just wanted to be sure of you."

Re-visiting the virgin

Took this ages ago. It's a bit silly, looking back now, but I was recently talking to a friend about Catholic iconography and how beautiful it is. This is the virgin mary who watches over my neighborhood.
